Big Climb for Let Them Shine 31 August 2018

At the end of August Richard, Aston and Harriet Millar, Martyn Fox and Richard Field will attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa at 5895 metres, or over 3.5 miles above sea level! It's a tough challenge and they would like your help in supporting a small UK registered charity called Let Them Shine.

If you can support the Big Climb we will use money raised for two things. First is to tile the boys and girls toilets and shower rooms. They are currently bare block and unhygienic, and tile our new kitchen. The second, and far more exciting, is to provide a safe play area with swings, a slide, climbing frame etc. There are no play facilities anywhere.

Please can you support Richard, Aston, Harriet, Martyn and Richard?

You can donate safely and securely using MyDonate by following this link.

Every penny raised will go to the Centre. The trustees meet all running costs and travel expenses personally.

The Nuclear Power Ride

16 July 2017 - UPDATE

The team completed the ride as planned. The riders were Chris Dutton, Harvey Ells, Paul Frost, Nick Clennett and Anthony & Jack Summersell. Chris, Harvey, Paul and Nick did the full 100 miles while Anthony and Jack managed one way only - always the plan given the lack of training time and decent bikes!

The weather was almost perfect with cloud cover, warm temperatures and perhaps most importantly, only a light breeze.

The team would like to thank everyone who provided support, not just financial, but with food and drink during our stage breaks!

The idea behind the ride was to raise money to build a separate kitchen, store and dining room that would allow food to be prepared and eaten is a purpose built facility. Through the generosity of family, friends and colleagues over £4500 was raised, all of which has gone to the construction. We are almost complete, just requiring windows and internal finishing.
